L’Ormarins Queens Plate ‘19
 

.The start of a new year is always highly anticipated, amoungst resolutions and goals it marks the beginning of a new chapter.

 

This year was kicked off with a glamourous affair at the annual L’Ormarins Queens Plate. It marked the 158th year of the events occurrence and this year was nothing short of exquisite.

 

Apart from being one of the country’s major horse racing events the Queens Plate sets the scene for what to expect in the fashion industry for the coming season. Men & Women were draped in shades of blue & white, from avant garde head pieces to classic blue suits. A summer affair featuring custom-made pieces, from linens to feathers and everything in between.

 

This year we captured Enhle Mbali Maphumulo’s Queens Plate experience. Her outfit inspiration came from the idea of a ‘power-women’. An all white suit and top hat, made by designer Ryan Keys, contrasts the ideas of femininity and masculinity. Subtle details like the lace side and butterfly heels bring the entire look together. A classic yet effortless approach to suiting.

 

An event enjoyed by all it’s attendees. The perfect way to start the 2019 calendar.
